Emily Rothschild

Biography

Emily Rothschild is an Industrial Designer interested in problem solving for individuals and communities. With an educational background in art history and curatorial studies, Emily worked in museums such as the Guggenheim, Whitney, and New Museum of Contemporary Art. In 2006 her joint interests of making and communicating visual stories led her to the Rhode Island School of Design for a Master’s degree in Industrial Design. Emily’s graduate work investigates individual needs and preferences relating to medication management in our lives and homes today; new tools which aim to integrate medicine into daily routines relating to quality of life. This continued body of work received departmental honors and has subsequently been selected for multiple exhibitions, recognized by design publications, and sold at design stores such as The Future Perfect in New York City.

Emily is co-founder of Hello! We Are _______., a collective of artists and designers with a range of interests, experiences, and skills. Their projects address issues ranging from broadly social to intimately personal behaviors. (www.helloweare.com)

A native New Yorker, Emily currently resides in Cambridge, MA, where she pursues projects that cultivate her love of all things design.
