FOR DIRECTIONS TO THE DISTILLERY, GO HERE.

The Distillery in South Boston will host its annual Spring Open Studios on Saturday, June 7th from Noon - 7pm. (Unlike the weekend-long events in the past, this one is for one-day only!) This year's event will include work from over 40 artists, craftspeople, and creative entrepreneurs. This year, The Distillery has organized a ground-level "Art Sale" and a "Silent Auction Exhibit" in The Distillery Gallery - both carrying the same theme: great affordable art. In addition, studio doors will be open throughout the building, inviting guests in for a view of the various creative spaces.

The Art Sale will take place on the ground level at over a dozen tables where work will be on display and ready for purchase, much of it at a discount. Also on the first floor, The Distillery Gallery's "Silent Auction Exhibit" will feature an entire show consisting of pieces with a "starting bid" followed by a bidding sheet where interested parties can name their price in hopes of scoring a sweet deal. Purchases will be made directly from the artists, no gallery commission involved.

As a long-standing focal point of the arts in Boston, The Distillery continues to support a creative community of its own made up of high quality artists and craftspeople. This former rum distillery, located at 516 East Second Street, has proven to be a one-stop destination for all types of art. Painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking, photography, metalwork, jewelry, woodwork, installation, video, ceramics, fabric work, and much more can all be found under one roof in this amazing and unassuming brick building in Southie.

Distillery Open Studios & Art Sale is free and open to the public, rain or shine. Public transportation is easy, take the Red Line to Broadway. A detailed list of participants, directions, and contact info can be found at: www.distilleryboston.com.

Note: An opening reception for the "Silent Auction Exhibit" along with an Open Studios preview will take place on Friday, June 6th, from 6 - 9pm. Free and open to the public.

Any Distillery tenant in need of a sign-up form can download one here.

Twice a year the Distillery opens its doors to the public for Open Studios. In the fall we participate in South Boston Open Studios on the first weekend of November. In the spring, we host our own event in early June.

Both events welcome visitors to explore the building and the creative environments in which the artists produce their work. Open Studios is always free and open to the public. Check back for specific dates and times.

For more info on South Boston Open Studios and the other participating artist organizations, visit www.southbostonopenstudios.org.
